What is Boom Beach?
Boom Beach is a great game developed by Supercell, the creators of Clash of Clans and Hay Day. They have made hit after hit and all three of their games have similar gameplay, however they are each in a different “world” where you have different objectives and ways to beat your opponent.
Supercell creates server based games that require a connection to their servers to play and access the games platform. Therefore, you cannot play Boom Beach without an internet connection for a substantial period of time. There are certain things you can do but it’s by no means a stand alone game. Therefore, Supercell has highly regulated the game play and limited hacks or cheats. Basically, unless you hack into the Supercell servers you won’t be able to get free diamonds or gems.
It’s important to realize that up front you have to play the game as Supercell wants you to play it so don’t believe any of the random other sites that will tell you that you can get free gems or anything. It just won’t work and you will wind up getting a virus on your computer by trying.
Luckily for you, Boom Beach is completely free to download and play but it will cost you if you ever want to upgrade or speed up the game’s process. You’ll notice that there are options to buy extra gems and that way you can speed up your development but it will cost you real money.

Similar to Clash of Clans if you’ve played that, you’ll notice that Boom Beach is a strategy game that sets you up against the computer or other online players. You are set in a sort of Normandy Beach setting where you will have to beat the other bases or defend your own base.
There are a bunch of small islands with various bases located on each island that will try to come over to your island and destroy your base. You’ll need to acquire a bunch of gems or diamonds (which can be bought with real money) to build up your infrastructure and increase the number of troops you have in your base. You’ll also want to focus on creating defenses so if you do get attacked you won’t be run over without putting up a good fight!

Now to get into the real reason you came here in the first place and want to get Boom Beach onto your Mac so you can play wherever you want. There are several advantages to playing the app on your computer instead of your iPhone, Android, or iPad.
One big reason is because you will get to use the advantages of having a much better screen with better resolution and graphics. You’ll notice that the gameplay is much better without any skipping while playing. Supercell works a lot on the graphics of their games and you’ll be able to enjoy it even more if it’s on a full big screen.
You’ll also notice that there are a lot of advantages to having the convenience of playing the game on your computer instead of your iPhone. You can play if you’re on your computer in class, or play while a break during work, etc. Sometimes it’s a lot easier to have access to your laptop than having access to your phone. Also, there are times like while you’re in class that you shouldn’t be on your phone but you can fake that you’re on your computer taking notes while you’re actually playing Boom Beach!
To get Boom Beach on your Mac free you can follow the steps below.
Step 1: First, make sure you go to Google Play and sign up for an account. Even if you don’t have an Android device you’ll want to go and create an account as the prime way to get Boom Beach for Mac is to download an Android emulator and that will require you to use Google Play to download the app to use. Luckily, it’s completely free and easy to sign up for an account.
Step 2: Next, head over to Andyroid to download the Android emulator software. This will allow you to download the emulator for free and will give you access to basically any app that is available on the Android platform.
Step 3: After the Andyroid app is downloaded, you can double click it to follow through all of the installation steps to get started. Make sure that you sign in with your Google Play account so that you will be able to sync up your account with Andy. If you typically use an Android device, when you login to your Google Play account on Andy it is supposed to sync your account profile and apps. Therefore, you can expect that all of your apps (including Boom Beach) will download onto Andy if you already have it on your account.
Step 4: If you sign in to Google Play and it doesn’t automatically download the Boom Beach app onto your computer, you’ll want to just click on the small shopping bag icon at the bottom right that has the Google Play icon on it. That will bring up the App Store and allow you to search for Boom Beach.
Step 5: Search for Boom Beach in the search box and you’ll see it pop up as one of the options to download. Click the install button and it will install the app onto your Andy home screen on your Mac.
Step 6: Double click the Boom Beach app and you’ll be able to get started playing the app. Below I’ll talk about how to transfer your previous game over to your Mac.
TIP: You can use the mouse and keyboard to play Boom Beach and if you have a touch screen you could use that as well. You will notice that if you press the control button you can emulate the same feature as pinching to zoom in and out in the game.
Transfer Boom Beach Game To Mac (From Android or iOS)
The next big thing that you’ll notice is missing is the ability to get your previously played game on your Mac to play. You will likely not want to start from scratch and therefore it’s helpful to transfer the game and account from your previous device to your new Boom Beach game on your Mac.
I’ll provide step by step instructions on how to transfer depending on whether your old device was an iPhone or an Android that you want to transfer it from.
Transfer Boom Beach to Mac from Android
The key to being able to play Boom Beach on your Macbook with your old account is to sync your account with your Google account. You basically connect both devices to your Google+ account and that way it will be up to date on any device you decide to play on.
- First, connect your Google+ account on the original device that you started your Boom Beach game on.
- Open Boom Beach and from there you will go to the settings screen and double check that the game is connected to your Google+ account to transfer over.
- Head over to your Mac and make sure your Andyroid app is connected to your Google account and that it is the same Google account as before. To double check you will want to head over to Settings, then Accounts, and click the Add Account to make sure you’ve added your Google account that you used to sign in on your original device.
- Now that both devices are synced up on Google and Google+ you will be able to start Boom Beach on your Mac. Once you start Boom Beach you will be taken through all of the initial tutorial and everything.
- Once the tutorial is finished you should go to the game settings and press G+ to connect to your Google Plus account so that you can link up your original. You should see a pop up that will notify you that your account has been synced to your Mac Laptop computer.
NOTE: You cannot be higher than Headquarter level 4 for this strategy to work. I am not sure why Supercell decided that was a cut off but after you get past HQ level 4 you won’t be able to transfer the account.
Transfer Boom Beach to Mac from iOS (iPhone and iPad)
Next, I’ll walk you through the steps to transfer or sync your Boom Beach account with your laptop from an iPhone or iPad that you started using. It’s basically a similar process as the Android process above but instead of syncing with Google+ you will want to sync with Apple’s Game Center.
You need to make sure that your Apple device is connected to Game Center and hence your Boom Beach game is connected to the Game Center. You will also want to make sure your Andyroid app is connected to Google+ on your Windows computer. If you’re unsure on either one of these, you can check on your iPhone by going into your Game Center and open the game from the “Game” tab in Game Center. Alternatively, you can check on your Andyroid app if you’re connected to Google+ by heading over to the in game settings and clicking on the sign in button for Google+.

Now, you’ll want to follow these steps to get everything synced up.
- Make sure Boom Beach is open on your iPhone or iPad and your Andyroid emulator.
- Head over to the in game settings on both devices and press the button to ‘link a device’ to sync up your old and new device.
- On your old device choose ‘this is the old device’ to tell Boom Beach which account to transfer the information from.
- You will now get a code that you will need to write down to use later.
- Press the ‘link a device’ button on your new device and select that it is the new device. You will want to do this on your Mac computer in Andyroid. You will then enter in your code that was given to you above. Make sure you don’t include any spaces!
